Made the long trek with Turdster and The Boy Window (a Warwick Davis clone) to Norwich Waterfront to see Toy, supported by Charlie Boyer and The Voyeurs. They performed above the main hall, in a room reminiscent of our local village hall, a nice intimate size with a good atmosphere.
Take 1/3 of 1970s Glam Rock and mix with 2/3 Krautrock - mix vigorously
Add Summer of Love haircuts with a pinch of Laurence Llewellyn Bowen campness
Insert glamour in the form of slim blonde with black skin tight, wet look leggings
Turn amps up to 11, season heavily with feedback and reverb
Hey Presto ! You have Toy
I enjoyed it, Turdster said it wasn't his thing and Window thought it was "fecking brilliant" , but he says this about every gig he's ever been to. A good night.

This Is Thorrington Calling
After a fishing session on Saturday with the North Walsham legend that is Mak Baines, where all manner subjects were discussed, from our average weekly consumption of wine to zander fishing at Rutland and absent friends, Mak mentioned that he'd started a blog.
I had intended to start one a year or two ago, but one way and another it was forgotten about. Anyway, I thought, it can't be that difficult if he can do it (sorry old chap), so I thought Id give it a go. Whether I'll stick at it remains to be seen, but with these long winter nights (I hate 'em) there's a good chance that for a good few months it will be updated regularly.
Check out Mak's blog at bureboyblog.blogspot.com
Mak took the honours on Saturday with two pike, best 11lb. Decent day whether wise, dry and mostly sunny. I didn't have a touch , but I can think of worse ways to spend a day. Plenty of tea drank, food consumed and half baked theories spouted.
Been catching some reasonable bass up to 3lb on the estuary up to a week or so ago. Would like to have gone bassing at the weekend, but was due to go whiting bashing with Goozgog. He let me down at the last minute (as usual). More about Goozgog later.
Loads of whiting around at the moment, some of The Colne Irregulars including Conan The Whittler and Ray Krakov have been catching shedloads of them (and complaining about it). Don't worry chaps, make the most of it, we'll be moaning about catching nothing due to the smegging sprats in a couple of months.
Was half planning to have a quick go on the estuary this evening on the first couple hours of the flood, but it was a bit of a rush after getting in from work, so have ended up in front of the computer listening to Marc Riley on 6 Music - the best show on the radio, bar none. First three bands tonight, the Sex Pistols, Jim Jones Revue and Clinic, you can't get much better than that.
